Description:

For the hesitant handyman (or woman) who has watched home repair and improvement shows, or read books and magazines, but still needs a little push.  There will be a strong emphasis on hands-on instruction designed to increase your confidence and familiarity with tools, techniques and materials.  We will bridge the gap between "book knowledge" and actual results, so that you will not hesitate to undertake intermediate home repair and improvement projects that previously intimidated you.  Sessions will include drywall installation and repair, basic trim carpentry, electrical and plumbing repair and installation, hardware flooring, and ceramic floor and wall tiling.  Students will have ample opportunity to ask questions about their own projects and problems.  The goal is to prepare students to undertake both small repairs and also intermediate projects such as bathroom renovation.  All tools will be supplied, participants may want to bring a notebook.

Cost:
$49
