New York State Teacher Certification Examination (NYSTCE)

For registration information, please contact the  College of Education in Room B9 on the lower level of  O'Shea Hall or call 716.286.8560.

Test dates for the 2012-2013 academic year (specifically for those administered by Counseling Services) are

  • September 22, 2012
  • February 16, 2013
  • June 8, 2013

You can also register for the NYSTCE online at www.nystce.nesinc.com. Other testing sites are available through the NYSTCE site.

Miller Analogies Test (MAT)

For registration information, please contact Niagara University Counseling Services in Room B11A in the lower level of Seton Hall or call 716.286.8536. More information regarding the Miller Analogies Test can be found at www.milleranalogies.com.

Tests are offered on an individual basis. Group administrations are also possible. Please call Counseling Services to register for the exam at 716.286.8536 (or counselingservices@niagara.edu). To set up a group administration, please also contact Counseling Services.

Details

Cost: $90 (cash, check from a U.S. bank, in US funds only, money order in U.S. funds)

What to Bring: Two forms of valid I.D. (one MUST have a photo and your signature; it must also be government issued)

Social security or social insurance number, addresses of schools to which you are sending your scores

Please, do NOT bring the following: cell phones, iPods/iPads, cameras, headphones, PDAs, recording devices, hats with brims, food or beverages, scrap paper (we provide paper for your use, which we collect at the conclusion of testing) purses, backpacks, briefcases, etc. We are not responsible for lost or stolen items, so we suggest not bringing anything of value with you. If you do, please leave the items locked in your car or with someone who is not taking the exam.

Please arrive for testing on time. Late examinees will not be admitted.

Graduate Record Examination (GRE)

Niagara University Counseling Services only administers the GRE Subject test. Our administration is paper-and-pencil only. The next administration for the GRE subject test is scheduled for fall 2012. Doors open to those taking the exam at 8:15 a.m. (Please bring valid photo I.D. containing your name and signature. All forms of I.D. must be valid and not expired. Please also bring an admission ticket and several No. 2 or HB pencils with an eraser.) Beverages, except for water, are not allowed in the testing room.

The next GRE Subject Test paper and pencil administration will take place on Saturday, November 10, 2012. The test will take place in the Career Library, LL Seton Hall. A campus map can be found here: Campus Map. Directions to Niagara can be found here: Campus Directions.
