Current Research

I currently the co-researcher on a study regarding educator collaboration and another study looking at art in early childhood settings. My most recent publications focus on teaching. My research interests include how early childhood educators make curriculum decisions and the scholarship of teaching and learning.

Educational Background

B.S. in Consumer Economics from Cornell University, B.S. in Elementary Education from Medaille College, M.S. and Ph.D. in Education from the University of Buffalo.

Current Involvement

I am involved in various early childhood and education organizations including The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), National Association of Early Childhood Education Teacher Educators (NAECTE), and the Association of Childhood Education International (ACEI). I am on the executive board of the NYS AEYC and an accreditation reviewer at the national level. I am a reviewer for several publications and am the faculty advisor for the Niagara Quality Improvement Project that is working with Niagara County child care centers to improve the quality of care. I am also a credentialed early childhood trainer through NYSAEYC
