When I accepted a teaching position at Boca Raton Community High School in Palm Beach County, Fla., I was most certainly taking a leap of faith. However, I have been amazed to find an exceptional level of dedication and excellence at this high school, which has nearly the same population of students as NU has undergraduate students!
In my first year of teaching there, I was awarded the district's prestigious Beginning Teacher of the Year Award at the high school level. I have no doubt that the time I spent at NU prepared me both intellectually and emotionally meet the extraordinary demands of working at one of the most academically successful comprehensive high schools in the nation.
My work at Niagara University taught me to always work as a team and also to strive for continuous improvement. Working closely with the NU faculty as a graduate assistant really opened my eyes to what incredible work can be accomplished by a group of highly motivated individuals when they work collaboratively.
My positive attitude and dedication to education prompted my principal to suggest that I go back to earn my credentials in educational leadership. I am now working as a full-time school administrator while I complete my M.Ed. in educational leadership.
