MAD Video Contest 2013 <p>High School and College students are invited to submit entries to the 2010 Media Awareness Student Video PSA Competition.  The goal is to produce a 60 second Public Service Announcement promoting “Media Literacy” in its broadest sense.</p> <h3>Potential topics include, but are not limited to</h3> <ul><li>Stereotyping in the Media</li> <li>Centralization of Media Ownership</li> <li>Media Violence</li> <li>Children &amp; The Media</li> <li>Media &amp; Politics</li> <li>Consumerism/Advertising/Materialism</li> </ul><h3>Potential media include, but are not limited to</h3> <ul><li>TV</li> <li>Film</li> <li>Web</li> <li>Print (Newspaper, Books, Magazines)</li> <li>Radio</li> <li>Videogames</li> </ul><p>Productions will be judged on creativity, originality of idea, technical quality, and effectiveness of intended message.</p> <h3>Prizes</h3> <p>Winning entries will be screened at the Annual Media Awareness Day at Niagara University and may be posted on the Niagara University web site. In addition, winners will receive the following cash awards in both the High School and College divisions:</p> <ul><li>First Prize — $100</li> <li>Honorable Mention — $50</li> </ul><p>Please see the <a href="">official entry form</a> for submission guidelines and a complete list of regulations.</p> <h3>About Media Awareness Day</h3> <p>Media Awareness Day is an annual event sponsored by Lambda Pi Eta, the Communication honor society of Niagara University and the Communication Studies Department of Niagara University. The event was created to foster awareness and understanding of the mass media.
