Mailing and Shipping
Starting in the summer of 2013, Niagara University will have new street addresses for various locations on campus. This is exciting for people trying to find specific offices using GPS devices, and may cause some questions regarding how the new addresses should be used for U.S. mail and other deliveries.
We are hoping to address those questions on this page. If you have a question that doesn't appear here, please email it to the NU Public Relations Office at firstname.lastname@example.org so we can supply you with an answer, and add it to this list.
Yes. Although mostly located in the Town of Lewiston, NU is recognized with its own zip code. As you will see below, mail and packages addressed to the university should be directed to “Niagara University, N.Y. 14109.”
That may be a bit unusual, but it is a sign that for over 150 years, we have been considered important enough to maintain our own zip code!
Postal service hours are as follows:
- Monday-Friday: 8:30-11 a.m. and 12-4 p.m.
- Saturday: 8:30-11 a.m.
P.O. Box access is available:
- Monday-Saturday: 7:30 a.m. - 7 p.m.

You are welcome to rent a P.O. Box by visiting the on-campus Post Office during normal service hours. The annual cost to rent a P.O. Box is $60.
You may also fill out a form online by visiting this website. Once you've completed the form, you can print it and bring it to the Post Office (with a form of personal identification) and you will be given a key.
(Please note that this is a transaction between a student/parent and the United States Post Office, not Niagara University.)
Mail will be put into the P.O. Box that each student rents. At the time of rental, each student will be given their own number and keys to that box.
The Niagara University Post Office is open 8:30-11 a.m. and 12-4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8:30-11 a.m. on Saturday. P.O. Box access is available from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
(The Post Office is closed on federal holidays)
A P.O. Box should be used to ensure delivery of mail. The new building addresses are being used primarily to provide better information when visitors are searching for locations on campus via GPS.
Mail being sent to NU via the United States Postal Service should be addressed to a specific Post Office Box. Mail that does not include a P.O. Box number will be returned via USPS protocol.

DO NOT use the address of “Lewiston, N.Y.” This will result in your package getting delayed at the post office in the Town of Lewiston and, very often, returned to those who sent it.
If you rent a P.O. Box, packages can be delivered and held for you at the Post Office.
If you do not rent a P.O. Box, UPS, FedEx or international packages should be labeled with the recipient's name and sent to Niagara University, care of Facility Services. Packages will be held for resident students only.

First, please consider getting a P.O. Box so you can get mail, and your packages can be delivered to the Post Office.
However, if you don't get a PO Box, you may use the “general” address of the university for package delivery by UPS or FedEx.
