I am currently the Chair of the Mathematics Department and Director of the Actuarial Science Program. I am also the Corresponding Secretary for the NY Eta chapter of KME, the national mathematics honors society and faculty advisor for the Mathematics and Actuarial Club. My mathematical research interests include pluripotential theory, approximation theory and history of mathematics. My interdisciplinary research interests including rhetoric of mathematics, mathematics education and higher education. In my time at NU I have served on the University Senate, as chair of the College of Arts and Science Curriculum Committee and as Outcomes Assessment Coordinator for the Mathematics Department and a variety of other university committees. Currently I am serving as co-chair of the Enterprise Risk Management Group, and as a member of the Committee for Promotion and Tenure as well as the Committee for Investigation and Advice to the President. Externally, I am the CMS(Canadian Mathematical Society) Liaison for the Canadian Society for History and Philosophy of Mathematics, a book reviewer for MAA Reviews and a volunteer with the Kristen French Child Advocacy Centre of Niagara. In the past I have been an executive member of the Zonta Club of St Catharines and a volunteer with both the Lincoln County Humane Society and the Niagara Falls Humane Society.
