Diane Halm holds a BS in TTT from Niagara University, as well as a B.A. in English literature and a master’s in English education from the University at Buffalo. Besides teaching developmental WRT 100, which she has done here at NU for the last 13 years, Professor Halm is currently in the second phase of the Ph.D. program in the department of learning and instruction at the University at Buffalo. She has rated Advanced Placement English Language exams for the last nine years, and has taught new AP ELA teachers to prepare for the task during NU’s Summer Institute. She is also a member of Niagara’s Faculty Learning Community, focusing on excellence in teaching and learning, and she recently presented her research findings on student engagement at the 2014 CCTL conference, hosted by Niagara University. If her first love is education, a close second is travel, and she takes every possible opportunity to visit friends and family throughout the U.S. - especially if there’s a beach close by.
