Ontario BPS Application

Application Fee - Online

  • $30 paid via credit card.

Official Transcripts - Mailed

  • Official transcripts of all colleges and universities attended in a sealed institution envelope.
  • Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university.

In-progress Letter - Mailed

  • If you have not yet graduated and/or your degree has not been conferred, please also enclose an in-progress letter.

Two References - Online

  • Two references (academic, professional and/or volunteer).

Statement of Intent - Online

  • Two-page, double-spaced, typewritten statement discussing your academic and/or research background, your career goals, your personal philosophy, and how Niagara University's program will help you meet your career and educational objectives.
  • *Please include your name at the top of this uploaded document.

Resume and/or Experience Profile - Online (Optional, to be Uploaded with Statement of Intent)

  • Resume and/or a profile including all professional experiences relating to the intended field of study.

Graduate Testing Requirements - Mailed

If GRE and/or MAT scores are required by your program, these score reports can be mailed to the Graduate Education Office.

  • Teacher Education Applicants - Applicants are not required to take the General Record Examination (GRE) or Miller Analogy Test (MAT), but applicants with an undergraduate GPA of less than 3.0 may be required to complete a personal interview and writing sample.

Additional Requirements

  • For individuals whose native language is not English, the TOEFL is required. For the internet-based TOEFL iBT we require a total score of 103 with scores of at least 23 in listening, 24 in reading, 28 in writing and 28 in speaking.
  • We require an overall score of at least 7 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with scores of at least 6.5 in reading and listening, and scores of at least 7 in writing and speaking.
  • A degree evaluation by WES (www.wes.org) is required for applicants who have obtained a degree outside of the United States or Canada. Please select the comprehensive course-by-course report.
  • Applicants with a GPA of less than 3.0/B may be required to attend an interview which will examine the student's career goals, personal readiness for their program, multicultural sensitivity and awareness, and personal judgment and decision-making skills and/or provide a writing sample
