Graduate Commencement - Thursday, May 14, 2015

Assemble: 6:00 PM, Lower Level of Gallagher Center
Commencement begins promptly at 7:00PM

Tickets

  • ADMISSION BY TICKET ONLY! Tickets are REQUIRED by all family and guests attending the undergraduate commencement ceremony. No one will be admitted into the Gallagher Center without a ticket. GRADUATING STUDENTS do not need a ticket.  Use of tickets is required in order to avoid exceeding attendance limits determined by the local fire safety officials.
  • Students will be allotted four (4) tickets each.
  • Students participating in the ceremony must complete a "Commencement Ticket Request Form" found in the upper right hand corner of their myNU page. Ticket request forms will be available April 7, 2015

Students will have the following options for obtaining tickets:

  • Students may pick their tickets up in their Dean's Office Tuesday, April 21 through May 11, 2015, Monday - Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • At Will Call on May 14, 2015, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Castellani Museum Sculpture Court

August 2014 and January 2015 Graduates

Students who graduated in August 2014 and January 2015 who will be participating in the ceremony must complete a "Commencement Ticket Request Form" found in the upper right hand corner of their myNU page. (Ticket request forms will be available April 7, 2015)

Students will have the following options for obtaining their tickets:

  • Students may pick their tickets up in their Dean's Office April 27 through May 11, 2015, Monday - Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • At Will Call on May 14, 2015, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the Castellani Museum Sculpture Court

  • Conferring of Degrees:  The Provost will address the President in a statement introducing the Degree Candidates.  The Degree Candidates will be asked to stand, and remain standing until the President concludes his response.  All candidates hood themselves when instructed.  The degree candidates will then be seated.
  • The Dean of the Graduate Division of Arts & Sciences then requests the candidates of Arts & Sciences to approach the stage.  The Dean calls the names of the candidates who ascend the stage to receive diploma cover individually.  On returning to their places, the graduates are seated.
  • The Deans of the Graduate Divisions of Business and Education and Hospitality & Tourism Management follow the procedure outlined in paragraph 11 above.
  • A diploma cover will be distributed to students as they cross the stage.  After receiving your diploma cover Graduates will proceed down the stairs and pick up an envelope at the tables located at the bottom of the stairs, which will include important information regarding your diploma and other pertinent information from your college. Your diplomas will be mailed to your home address in approximately 8 weeks.
