HST Management Degrees offer comprehensive insights into the structure and functioning of companies and organizations of the Experience Economy.
Students learn management skills, such as leadership and delegation, teamwork and communication, IT, analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving needed to thrive in the Experience Economy.
Each summer since 2004, students from Niagara University’s College of Hospitality, Sport, and Tourism Management have worked in nine luxury hotels in Lake Como, located in northern Italy on the border of Switzerland.
The College of Hospitality, Sport and Tourism Management has developed a unique cultural immersion program in Lima and Cusco, Peru. Students in the Peru will have a broad range of experiences including internship and service opportunities, take unique courses, and participate in a range of excursions that are almost hard to imagine.
The Buffalo Sabres Scholars at Niagara University program provides unique access and experiences each year for 10 NU students enrolled in the College of Hospitality, Sport, and Tourism Management (CoHST). Students will receive special access and mentorship from the leadership team with the Sabres, LECOM Harborcenter, and other sport and hospitality venues in Western New York.
The Disney College Program allows students to work for a renowned entertainment and hospitality company, while participating in a variety of networking opportunities. This allows you to build your resume and gain real-world experience with Disney over the course of a few months. Plus, if you enjoy your time so much that you want to continue or come back at some point, Disney Professional Internships are available, as well!
Each fall semester, the college hosts a Hotel and Tourism/Event Summit week that is filled with visits from Alumni and Industry Experts. This event is a week-long series of engaging discussions, events, keynote speeches, and interactive workshops. Each session helps NU students consider what role they see for themselves in the future and how to continue building the experience and knowledge to get there.
The College of Hospitality, Sport and Tourism Management has partnered with the Merani Hotel Group to invite three students per year to the Merani Scholars Program. These students enjoy generous annual scholarships, internship and employment opportunities with a unique professional development programming. Former Merani Scholars have moved up into management positions with Merani Hotels or other hospitality destinations.

The Buffalo Sabres are continuing their partnership with Niagara University to offer the Sabres Scholars program to 10 students each year through the 2027-28 season.
Sabres Scholars, which is exclusive to Niagara University and full-time students in its College of Hospitality, Sport, and Tourism Management, is in its third season and is a four-year program dedicated to providing Niagara students with a firsthand opportunity to work and learn in sport through a variety of experiences within the Sabres organization.
Dr. Bridget Niland, dean of Niagara University’s College of Hospitality, Sport, and Tourism Management will be inducted into the Greater Buffalo Sports Hall of Fame on Tuesday, Nov. 12, during a ceremony at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center, 153 Franklin Street Buffalo, N.Y.,14202. She is one of 12 members of the 2024 class.
Dr. Niland is being honored for an athletic career that spans decades, which began as a student at Williamsville South High School and continued during her studies at the University of Buffalo, where she played an early role in the Bull’s run to Division I, broke school records, won individual conference championships, and captained the conference championship track and cross-country teams. She also served as chair of the NCAA’s National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was the first student-athlete appointed to its Division I Management Council.
