Dr. Dana Radatz

Biography


Dr. Dana L. Radatz joined the faculty in the fall of 2015. She received her doctorate in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and her undergraduate and master’s degrees from Eastern Michigan University.

Dr. Radatz’s research interests include intimate partner violence treatment programs, evidence-based practices, gender and crime, violence prevention and programming evaluation, and a wide range of victimizations (e.g., relationship violence, sexual violence). Dr. Radatz has published in numerous academic and practitioner outlets, such as Trauma, Violence, & Abuse, Journal of Interpersonal Violence, Crime & Delinquency, and Criminal Justice & Behavior.

Dr. Radatz has taught an array of courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, such as Victimology, Violence, Women & Crime, Domestic Violence, Victimization, and Policy Paper. Additionally, Dr. Radatz is involved in the Department’s faculty-led study abroad program, and a researcher affiliated with the NU’s Office for Violence Prevention & Education.

In addition to her research and teaching, Dr. Radatz collaborates with several agencies within Niagara County that work to address violence and victimization, such as the Child Advocacy Center of Niagara, Niagara County Sheriff’s Victim Assistance Unit, New York State Police, Pinnacle Community Services, and the YWCA of the Niagara Frontier.

Current Research


Dr. Radatz’s research agenda focuses violence prevention and education, with emphasis on the infusion of evidence-based practices into intimate partner violence treatment programming.
