Biography
Mrs. Nanette L Harmon, MS Ed. brings 40 years of teaching experience to the American Sign Language and Deaf Studies program. She holds a master’s degree in Deaf Education. In addition to her love for the unique language, she is passionate about the d/Deaf experience. As a late-deafened adult, Nanette is actively involved in the Deaf community. She works closely with Deaf Access Services, an affiliate of People, Inc., Niagara University First Responder Disability Awareness and Training Program, and on-campus initiatives to create an accessible environment for all.
Hobbies include anything that involves laughter and showing pictures of her grandchildren.
Why I Sign
Having an interpreter is a necessity for me to be fully included in large group settings and meetings, but the true passion I hold for ASL is that it connects me to other people. Language is a bridge to other cultures.
