The Institute on Disability Awareness (IDA) at Niagara University is a holistic training and education center on all aspects of disabilities and issues impacting individuals with disabilities and offered in a sensitive and inclusive higher education and professional development environment.
The Institute provides online courses, live training, resources, programs, and solutions for individuals and organizations that fulfills a societal need of improving inclusion, equity, and quality of life for people with disabilities, their families, and the communities they live in.
The Justice House at Niagara University is centered on the shared passion for social justice, legal advocacy, and the environment. As an organization, it focuses on finding solutions to the injustice that affects our communities and the world around us.
The Justice House offers a range of opportunities, including scholarships, paid internships, stipends for participating in our vibrant living and learning community, as well as housing for students interested.
Additionally, we offer a major and a minor in justice studies and participation in the Justice House Honor Society.
The Justice House fosters student-led initiatives that support their individual interests and contribute to the pursuit of justice in various areas.
At the Niagara University BioMedical Research Institute, our mission is clear: to drive advancements in basic and clinical research, with a focus on discovering and applying a groundbreaking general anti-viral therapeutic. We achieve this through the development of an innovative drug delivery system called Cholestosome, aimed at enhancing health and wellness.
In pursuit of our mission, we provide invaluable opportunities for undergraduate students to engage in high-level research and collaborate with esteemed healthcare professionals. By doing so, we not only contribute to the field of biomedical research but also align with Niagara University’s commitment to education and training. Our ultimate goal is to nurture and train the next generation of scientists, empowering them to make significant contributions to the scientific community and beyond. Together, we are shaping a brighter future for healthcare and scientific discovery.
I began work in Dr. McCourt’s lab my first year studying biochemistry. By learning a variety of techniques in formulation and tissue culture, the team of researchers working under Dr. McCourt helped broaden my skill set and understanding of the field. I brought these skills with me as a medical student where I remained involved in clinical studies, and aim to continue to contribute to the development of healthcare throughout my career as a physician.
