Incoming Students
All students who are considering NU should apply for financial aid. NU has streamlined the process to make it as easy as possible for you.
- The FAFSA form for the 2025-26 school year is now available.
- Remember to use NU’s federal code: 002788.
- If you need a paper FAFSA, contact Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1.800.433.3243.
- If you are a NY state resident, additional financial aid may be awarded through the New York Tuition Assistance Program (TAP).
- Use NU’s New York TAP code 0560 on TAP Application.
NU offers additional financial aid called endowment scholarships. Students must apply in order to be considered a recipient of these awards. Please note that these scholarships cannot be applied for until January 1, 2025
- After you have been accepted for admission to NU and your FAFSA has been processed, NU will provide you with a confidential financial aid award offer.
- Financial aid offer will detail specific scholarships, grants, loans, and other aid programs that you are eligible for.
Current Undergraduate Students
Important information about re-applying for financial aid for the 2025-26 academic year in a timely and accurate manner. Under the new federal regulations, financial aid offices can no longer accept signed copies of tax returns. Federal regulations require either submitting the IRS tax transcript or using the IRS data retrieval through FAFSA.
The following forms are required in order to determine your financial aid eligibility for 2025-26. All forms are due April 15, 2025.
Financial aid offer letter notifications are mailed electronically to your NU email address.
- Apply online for FAFSA
- If you have an FSA ID, you can electronically sign your FAFSA. If you need a FSA ID, apply online.

- Check the status of your TAP Application.
- Use NU’s New York TAP code 0560 on TAP application.
- Most TAP renewals are completed automatically by NYSHESC.
Search and apply for both NU endowed scholarships and outside private scholarships in one place! Apply online through myNU under “Systems” starting Jan. 1, 2025.
Current Graduate Students
Students enrolled in Niagara University’s graduate programs should apply for financial aid for the 2025-2026 academic year (which begins with summer 2025 session) by submitting the 2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the Niagara University financial aid application.
