Overview of RN to BS Program

The RN to BS program affords licensed registered nurses (RN) a flexible, online academic pathway to new career opportunities as they complete their bachelor of science degree in nursing.

Our transformational RN to BS curriculum includes relevant courses for the working nurse professional, covering topics such as holistic health assessment, information technology, palliative care, ethics, leadership, and resiliency.

It is the goal of the nursing program at Niagara to educate nurses who, upon completion of the program, are prepared to lead, manage, and deliver outstanding professional comprehensive nursing care. Faculty use a variety of teaching methods to appeal to students’ multiple learning styles.

In addition, Niagara University offers a resilience program to prepare nursing students with holistic mental health support and practical skill building, helping them toward their individual goals of academic success and post-graduate personal wellness.

Admissions Requirements

  1. Associates degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program
  2. GPA 2.5 or higher
    *Applicants who have a GPA below 2.5 are required to submit a personal statement identifying their plans for academic success in the nursing program as well as two letters of recommendation
  3. Unencumbered New York State license as a registered professional nurse
    * or demonstrate eligibility to test for NCLEX-RN. Note that candidates in this category must successful pass NCLEX-RN and have a current unencumbered RN license by the end of the first course or will be ineligible to continue in the program
  4. Statistics is a required component of this program. Individuals who have completed a 3-credit statistics course may submit course for consideration of transfer acceptance
    * A minimum of 30 credits taken at Niagara University is required
