Biography
Dr. Tahmina Ahmed is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Niagara University. Dr. Ahmed earned a Ph.D. in Accounting from Schulich School of Business, York University, in 2024. Prior to that, she completed a Master of Accounting as a Fulbright Scholar at The Ohio State University in 2017 and a Bachelor’s in Accounting from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Before joining Niagara University, Dr. Ahmed served as an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the University of Dhaka.
At Niagara University, Dr. Ahmed teaches MBA courses in Financial and Management Accounting as well as Strategic Accounting Analysis and Planning.
Dr. Ahmed’s research is primarily situated within the financial archival spectrum, particularly emphasizing various forms of disclosure and communication. She is currently engaged in innovative research projects, including exploring the capital market consequences of social media big data, social network analysis, and ESG.
